I just love taking walks on the ranch because June 12, 2012

I see the neatest things.  Last week I forgot to take my camera one day on my walk and stumbled across a newborn fawn.  So this week I’ve been hauling it along.  This western tanager male was busy looking for bugs and very accommodating when I wanted to take his picture!

This guy was in a hurry!

Wishing you a Happy New Year January 8, 2010

Thanks to all of you who enjoy the blog.   I know that I’m not perhaps the most regular of correspondents (no kidding, huh).  Life here at BQ is sometimes so busy and overwhelming, that getting to the computer is one of the hardest things for me to do. OK – enough of excuses.  My New Year’s resolution is to be a more faithful blogger and, if you want to check back once a week, we’ll do our best to see to it that there’s always something new to look at!

Wishing you the best for the new year from all of us here at Bison Quest.

Finished cabins at Bison Quest camp September 6, 2009

Filed under: Bison Quest camp — bisonquest @ 9:49 am

Well, we finally finished the cabins between guests!   The last step was the chinking between the logs – so no more bugs getting into the cabins.  Now we’re gearing up for our September “internship” week where we get to put our guests to work for a few days before running down to Yellowstone National Park for an overnight tour.  Our first day of  “work” will be checking out, cleaning, and repairing the numerous bird houses, while hiking on the ranch.  We’ll let you know how that goes!  And we’re also going to do some fencing and clearing brush – even some burning if we get any rain (I LOVE to burn slash – bit of a pyro, I think :-)!

The buffs check out the cabins and the guests check out the buffs!
